Toyota Avanza
Avanza is one of the types of car that can easily found in Indonesia. The first generation of Avanza was introduced in 2003. It is under the Toyota brand. There another but almost similar type with Avanza is Daihatsu Xenia which was introduced in the same year. But Toyota Avanza is higher prestige than Daihatsu Xenia.
The front-engine and rear-wheel drive automobile of Avanza produced in Indonesia and Malaysia by Toyota Company. The name ‘Avanza’ was taken from avanzato, an Italian word, which means ‘advances’. In Japan, it was launched at the Gaikindo Auto Expo in 2003 and exactly at the same year it has been sold 100,000 units. In Indonesia, it was introduced to replace Toyota Kijang’s as the citizen family car.
One year after that, Avanza was launched the new Toyota VVT-i engine which is powerful than the previous series in 2004. The special edition of Toyota is automatic transmission which only made for 200 units and sold in Indonesia and Malaysia. The next series is in 2006 named New Avanza S with many improvement like 1.5 1 10-valve DOHC VVT-i gasoline engine and taken by Toyota Astra Motor and restyled grille and bumpers and looks more proposional. The last, also called third generation is very different that Xenia with the new chrome line at the rear it occurs in Dark Grey Metallic and Wine Red Metallic.
